A Weekend At The Fair

This weekend the local county fair was in town.  I have to say that I haven't been to the county fair since highschool.  It was nice revisiting the old stomping grounds and feeling like I was back in middle school.

First off we hit the food line and got the normal "fair food".  We both god hotdogs and decided to split a chili fry.  It was great but I probably should have rethought what I was eating before we hit the rides.

First stop was the ferris wheel.  I was so excited to climb on this because the sunset was to die for and being on top you could see all of our little town.

As you can tell our fair is not all that big.  We had about 5 big rides and several small rides but it was still a blast.

My husband doesn't like to ride rides so I met up with some girls from work and we ended up riding all the rides together!

The sunset was gorgeous over the fair!

We stuck around and watched a local country group that is really popular - Shook Lane - to close the evening out.

Saturday morning we got up and headed to the barn to start working the steers.  Daisy our Great Pyrenees was excited to help us move the steers.

It was time for worming so we wormed and sprayed the steers.

Opy was tired from helping with the steers so he sat in the water tub for almost 30 minutes cooling off.

Ernie also helped us so he to thought he should take a rest.

On Sunday we got up and headed to church and after church we had a huge covered dish dinner.  It was amazing as usual and then we headed to the house.

Chris had hauled a load of steers on Friday and since we just got a new trailer we are trying to keep it clean.  Well steers have no control over where their feces goes to.  It was all over the roof, walls, and running down the side of the trailer.  So we got scrub brushes and scrubbed that thing from top to bottom until it was spic and span.

After we got all of that finished we headed over to a dear friends house to take some family pictures.  We had a great time and really enjoyed getting to spend time with such a great family!
