Oh Hey Friday | Bluegrass

One quick thing before we get on to the Five on Friday link up. Terrence over at Girl Repurposed was so kind to feature me on her blog as a farmer's wife.  Go check out her amazing post that she put together about being a farmer's wife!

Okay, now on to the good stuff:

Today I'm linking up with The Farmer's Wife & September Farm for Oh Hey Friday.  I love this link up because you can write about what ever you want to as long as its five things.

Bluegrass has always been a huge part of my life.  Growing up my grandmother would listen to bluegrass like it was the newest thing on the radio.

It wasn't till I got older that I realized how much of an influence this had on me.  Bluegrass just touches the soul and makes a person feel like they can dance the night away.

I started playing banjo when I was 20 years old and have picked around with it for the last 9 years.  It's relaxing and a great way to pass the time.

The thing with bluegrass music is when they record an album they don't have all this junk added in.  The way you hear them on their album is the same exact way that you will hear them in concert.

If your not a bluegrass listener, just give it a whirl.  I know that bluegrass is not every one's forte but just give it a chance, you might be surprised!

Here are five of my favorite bluegrass bands and some of my favorite songs by them:

1. Ralph Stanley

2. Rhonda Vincent

3. Dailey and Vincent

4. Lonesome River Band

5. Balsam Range

and 1 more

6. Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver

I could go on and on about bluegrass and how wonderful it is.  The songs I chose for each artist or group are some of my favorites!  Hope you enjoyed!
