Content | Peony Project Link Up

The Peony Project has been an awesome group!  I was so excited when I found a group of God loving women who also love to blog and share their lives.  These ladies are beyond welcoming and they are always happy to have new people drop by.  If you haven't had a chance yet, swing on over and check them out.

The word "Content" is a word that can be a little nerve racking for me.  When I think of the word content, I think of being happy with what I have.  The definition of content is: in a state of peaceful happiness.

A lot of times we see other bloggers sharing their "perfect" lives on instagram/twitter but I always wander what is behind the perfectly posed picture.  Is the gal happy, is she going through a tough time, or is she just that really well put together. These are just questions I ask myself.

I follow a lot of blogs on Bloglovin and there are times that I will unfollow someone that just doesn't seem to be real.  I like bloggers who share their lives as it is, no sugar coating.  Ladies that share their lives and are content with their surroundings.

Everyday I open up my computer and write a post, I want it to be real as if we are sitting and having a conversation.  I don't want to hide anything or seem fake to someone.  I want people to know that I am real and I am here to share my life with them as raw as it may be.

I am content with my not so perfect life, the clothes that are piled on the end of the bed and the bathroom that hasn't been cleaned in a week.  It's ok because I am happy with the way things are, with my husband, and my job.  I cam content with who I am and I don't want to be anyone else.

    1. I just get tired of seeing all these “How to Blog”, “Blogging Edicate” and blah blah. I just want to see the person on the other side of the screen. I don’t need to be preached to about proper this and proper that. This is my part of the internet and I want to write what is real and on my heart. I’ve been keeping this back but finally had to get it out there.

Thats why I love your blog because you are as real as they come!!

  2. This is an excellent way to look at it. I try my best to be real in my blog with each post. (I hope) my words come across as if you could hear me speak them or at least hear my mannerisms. Glad I've found you!

    1. I don't know why it has always seemed fake to me to see all the bloggers with the perfect life, perfect husband, and perfect job. I want to see the raw emotions someone is facing from having a bad day, to missing a bible study, or to busy to slow down. We are all human and make mistakes and are not perfect. Thanks for sharing Laura!
